Fifteen labels, read carefully.
The questions visitors ask most, answered the way we would at the information desk — plainly.
Docwell is a hosted knowledge-base service. You write and organize articles in our editor; we host them on fast infrastructure with search, themes, and your own custom domain. Think of it as a museum for your company's answers: you supply the specimens, we supply the cases, the lighting, and the labels.
Docwell hosts your documentation, and you are responsible for what you publish. We prohibit content that is illegal under applicable law — including fraud, malware distribution, child sexual abuse material, incitement to violence, and material that infringes intellectual-property rights — as well as spam and phishing. Reported or discovered violations are reviewed promptly; illegal content is removed per our policy, and serious or repeated violations lead to account termination. The full rules live in our Content Policy.
Payment is charged at checkout for the selected plan and period.
After payment, your order status is shown on the return page. Contact support for account access.
The editor and the hosted base are online services. However, every article can be exported — individually or the entire base at once — as clean HTML and Markdown files, which are yours to keep, read offline, or archive. Many curators schedule a monthly export as a matter of housekeeping.
The current and previous major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, on desktop and mobile. Published bases are plain, fast HTML and degrade gracefully almost anywhere; the editor needs a reasonably modern browser with JavaScript enabled.
Specimen ($19/month) is one knowledge base with 50 articles — a personal cabinet. Exhibit ($45/month) adds unlimited articles, brand colors, search analytics and a custom domain. Gallery ($79/month) is for teams: 10 bases, multi-language, article feedback, white label, 5 seats. Museum ($119/month) is unlimited bases with content mirroring, public version history, API, SSO and 15 seats. The comparison table lays all four side by side.
Any time, from your account settings, in either direction. Upgrades apply immediately and we prorate the difference for the remainder of the billing month. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal so you keep what you paid for. Nothing is ever deleted during a downgrade — over-limit content is archived, not destroyed.
In your account settings, two clicks, no phone call, no retention script. There is no cancellation fee. Your base stays live until the end of the paid period, then goes read-only. Export your content first if you like — it was always yours.
We offer a 30-day, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee on every plan. Write to us within 30 days of a charge and we refund it in full to the original payment method; funds typically arrive within 5–7 business days depending on your bank. The complete terms are in our Refund Policy.
You do — 100%, without ambiguity. You grant us only the narrow license needed to host and display your documentation while you are a customer. We claim no ownership, we do not reuse your content, and we do not use it to train models. Export and delete it whenever you wish.
On Gallery and Museum, each article can carry multiple language versions managed side by side in the editor. Readers get a language switcher, search indexes each language separately, and you can track which translations are out of date relative to the source text.
Every save creates a dated revision. On Museum, the history can be made public: readers see a "Versions" label on each article and can inspect exactly what the documentation said on any given date — invaluable for regulated products and changing policies.
We give you the sound technical foundations — clean semantic HTML, automatic sitemaps, fast pages, proper titles and meta descriptions, SSL on custom domains. What we will not do is promise rankings: no honest vendor can guarantee a position in anyone's search results. Good structure helps; the rest is earned by the quality of your content.
Specimen and Exhibit include 1 seat. Gallery includes 5 seats, and Museum includes 15. Additional seats can be arranged on the two larger plans — write to us and we will quote you plainly.
